Plurex started to change; stretching its sonic muscles by releasing the post-punk sounds of Interior, Minny Pops, + Instruments and The Young Lions. The label also flirted with another aspect of the zeitgeist with this Ze Popes single. “Sexy Pyjamas” / “Sell Jesus” is a strange mix of the up-tempo ska-based pop that Doe Maar would develop to become huge. This Amsterdam band also mixed elements of lounge pop, rockabilly and swing in there too. And these two songs just keep going without a second’s hesitation. Commitment or what? But what is the thing with pyjamas though? John Peel played this and called them “strange persons”.
